Hocus Pocus Hyperfocus: the ADHD Oracle Game

Created by Allison Kyran Cole

A cozy story game about an absent-minded Witch with a Very Important Thing to do and a lot of little distractions stealing her focus.

Latest Updates from Our Project:

An Actual Play as we enter our final week!

Greetings Covenmates,

We’re furiously barreling towards the last week of Hocus Pocus Hyperfocus’ campaign, and are so excited to see all of the support our little ADHD Witch has gotten. Every time we get a message or read a comment about how you relate to her experience, it warms the cockles of our little witchy hearts.

Tonight, we have a special treat! If you’ve been curious about the stories Hocus Pocus Hyperfocus can tell,Lies You’ll Enjoy will be streaming a game tonight, at 7:30 Eastern.
We’ll be sure to share the video in our next update as well.

To play they’ll be using an early version of the game’s digital file, which you will get yourself if you back at any level (so you can play with your friends online too). This version has been made mostly functional by Allison, but not yet nice to look at by Brandy.

Please share widely as we get into our final stretch. Let’s finish strong!

Thanks,
Allison

🎶 Don’t Stop [Us] Now! — ‘Cause We’re Fully Funded 🎉

🎶 Don't Stop [Us] Now
Yes, We're Fully Funded
And we're not gonna stop at that🎸

Hello Mystical, Magical, Misfits!

Allison may have started something because now my brain won't allow for non-music-lyric themed updates. (We're a commit to the bit people, surrounded by other commit-to-the-bit-ers. Commit I shall!)

Right, on Topic!

🎉 WE'VE DONE IT! We're FUNDED! 🎉

🔮Hocus Pocus Hyperfocus: The ADHD Oracle Game🧠 has successfully unlocked "Fund Our First Print Run" achievement. 🎯

Thanks to everyone for pledging, sharing, and all around supporting our little indie oddball of a game. It's been One Week since we kicked things off, and it has undoubtedly been 'laughs at a funeral' vibe in our 3 am DMs. (Which… truly isn't a change from pre-launch lives, but the frequency, I suppose, is higher.)

Things have been a whirlwind of life, work, family, friends, waffles, commitments, and…a dozen (or two) side quests (each). While we (mostly) wouldn't have it any other way, we're both trying to pace ourselves and not burn before we reach the end of the campaign.

We've got a million dreams keeping us awake. (Often until 3 am.) About how far we can take this indie oracle about a Witch as wonderful (and distractible) as us.

While we've reached our print funding goal, we're not gonna stop there.
If you have the capacity, we'd be truly grateful if you could share Hocus Pocus Hyperfocus in your circles: friends, family, and neurospicy networks, late-night Discord DMs.
Anywhere and anyone you think might enjoy or know someone who would enjoy telling tales of mundane and magical distractions.

And on that note, I must get back to changing all the graphics from "launched" to "funded" and remember all the places I've put them. (Because you absolutely know this AuDHDer made a detailed list of the placements... and promptly lost / cannot relocate the *very safe / specific place* she put it now that it is time to use it.)

As magical as I am absent-minded,
Brandy

🎵Woah, we're halfway there🎶

Hi covenmates!

WOW! Thank you so much for an incredible first day - more than $3000, 50 backers, and most importantly 50% of the way to funded! Brandy and I are so happy for such a strong start to the campaign. We've been working on this game for years by ourselves, and it's always scary to take the leap to put your game out into the world. Thank you for being there to catch us.

We really appreciate each and every pledge, and if you're as excited as we are, please tell your friends about the game! As you know, the first 72 hours are crucial for how a campaign will go, and we want to get as far as we can in that time. Thank you once again.

Talk soon with more updates!
